Course Details
6 months Pre-Sea Training course followed by 09 months of Structured Shipboard Training as Trainee Seaman / Trainee ERR / Trainee Cook ( Deck / Engine / Saloon ) as per Training Circular No. 9 of 2010 of D.G Shipping, Govt. to be conducted at The Great Eastern Institute of Maritime Studies, Lonavala.

G.P Rating (Deck) Pass with aggregate 40% marks in 10th Standard from a recognized Board with Science, Mathematic as subjects and with minimum 40% in English language either in 10th or 12th or Diploma/Degree Exam. Between 17.5 to 25

G.P Rating (Engine) Pass in 2 Year ITI Course from Govt. approved Institute with minimum 50% aggregate marks in final year and minimum 40% marks in English language at 10th or 12th or Diploma/Degree Exam. Between 17.5 to 25

G. P Rating (Saloon) Pass with aggregate 40% marks in 10th Standard from a recognized Board with Science, Mathematics as subjects and with minimum 40% in English language either in 10th or 12th or Diploma/Degree Exam and; A Diploma Certificate in Catering Course. Between 17.5 to 25

Medical Standard Physical Standards: Candidates should be medically and physically fit for sea service as per STCW 2010/MS Medical rules 2000 and all its amendments as applicable to seafarers. Candidates will have to undergo a full medical check-upthrough our Panel Doctor approved by D.G Shipping.

Eyesight: Distance vision (unaided): 6/12 in each eye; or 6/9 in better eye and 6/18 in other eye. Normal colour vision. Candidates will have to undergo a full eyesight test by a Company Medical Officer.

MMPE Test Shortlisted Candidates must compulsorily undergo a psychological screening test known as ‘Merchant Marine Personality Evaluation (MMPE) Test’ introduced by the D G Shipping. Details regarding the same can be obtained from the Company.
