Course Details
6 months Pre-Sea Training course followed by 09 months of Structured Shipboard Training as Trainee Seaman / Trainee ERR / Trainee Cook ( Deck / Engine / Saloon ) as per Training Circular No. 9 of 2010 of D.G Shipping, Govt. to be conducted at The Great Eastern Institute of Maritime Studies, Lonavala.

Pass in 2 Year ITI or 3 Years Diploma Course in the below mentioned streams from Govt. approved Technical Institutes with minimum 50% aggregate marks in final year and minimum 40% marks in English subject in 10th or 12th Board. Medical Standard
Physical Standards: Candidates should be medically and physically fit for sea service as per STCW 2010/MS Medical rules 2000 and all its amendments as applicable to seafarers. Candidates will have to undergo a full medical check-upthrough our Panel Doctor approved by D.G Shipping.
Eyesight: Distance vision (unaided): 6/12 in each eye; or 6/9 in better eye and 6/18 in other eye. Normal colour vision. Candidates will have to undergo a full eyesight test by a Company Medical Officer.
Admission Procedure
Eligible candidates will be called for the personal interview, medical test, and final selection. Complete details regarding the course is provided in the Prospectus.
MMPE Test
Shortlisted Candidates must compulsorily undergo a psychological screening test known as ‘Merchant Marine Personality Evaluation (MMPE) Test’ introduced by the D G Shipping. Details regarding the same can be obtained from the Company.
