Course overview
Navigating officers play a crucial role on board a ship — they are responsible for piloting and steering the vessel safely towards its destination. The Diploma in Nautical Science(DNS) programme has been specifically created by industry professionals to groom and create globally employable navigating officers. The first part consists of a 12-month pre-sea training course conducted on shore, followed by 18 months of structured shipboard training. After completing the training, students are eligible to appear for the B.Sc. (Nautical Science) examination affiliated to Indian Maritime University (IMU) and recognised by D. G. Shipping.
